Kuopio Swimrun Ultimate 53km – The Toughest Swimrun race in Finland
and the Swimrun World Championship race on Ultra distance 2024!
Note! There will be no ranking events for World Championship Ultra 2024. Therefore you are allowed to enter without qualification. However, in order to finish this race you have to pass the informed Cut Offs.
Marathon to trailrun, ¼-marathon to swim, 50 sections
altogether and more than 1100 vertical meters to climb!

Special instructions for the Kuopio Swimrun Ultimate-racers:
The race can be done in pairs or as an individual. The route is
marked throughout the course. The ultimate race is only suitable for competent swimrunners.
The longest swim (Swim 1, 1700m) is guided by safety boat. Thereafter the
Ultimate course goes the long course loop twice. During the first loop there will
be no boat assistance and therefore it will be mandatory to use safety buoy by
organizer a short part of the course (between Energy 3 and 4). The second loop will be normally assisted
such as long course race. There will be energy stations every 4-7 kms throughout
the whole race. Between the loops (at the competition center) you are allowed
to store and have energy of your own.
The Cut Offs are calculated with the maximum total time of 10 hours. The swimrunners who are late for the announced Cut Offs will be directed to the shortcut. The start for the second loop must be happened no later than 11.20 am. These Cut Offs are defined to ensure the guidance and the energy supply for all the racers during the Kuopio Swimrun competition.
Preliminary schedule, Saturday 13th of July
5.10 – 5.20 am. Registration confirmation at competition
center Neulamäki, Pinokuja 6
5.20 am. Transportation to Start at ”Niuvan uimaranta”
5.45 am. Race briefing beside the start line
6.00 am. Kuopio Swimrun Ultimate start
8.45 am. Ultimate cut off (14 km) - 2nd Eenergy st.
(10.00 am. Kuopio Swimrun Long course start at Neulamäki)
11.20 am. Ultimate cut off (28 km) - Start for the second loop
1.30 pm. Ultimate cut off (39 km) - 7th Energy st. (same as the 2nd Energy st.)
3.00 pm. Prize-giving Ceremony
